Newly Renovated Feb 2022!

Whether or not someone has told you to “Take a Hike” this is the perfect place for you to escape and relax. You can use our cabin as a base to explore the Smoky Mountains or if you prefer to stay close to the house, you can use our large yard to relax and enjoy the great outdoors without traveling anywhere. Your hike can be in the National Park or in our backyard.
Unique Setting
It is very unusual to find outdoor space with many vacation rentals in the Smoky Mountains. We have designed our home to be the perfect outdoor getaway for your family. You can relax in the NEW (01/2023) hot tub while enjoying the view of the large backyard. You could also relax around the fire pit while the kids are playing catch with the football or exploring the seasonal stream. The adults or kids will also have plenty of space to engage in a game of cornhole or any of the other outdoor games we have included. We also have installed a Gaga Ball pit for your group to play many games of Gaga Ball. Your whole group can participate in all of these activities while enjoying a view of Bluff Mountain. Take a Hike cabin is located on 3/4 of an acre of land 4 miles from the Parkway in Pigeon Forge. It's far enough off the beaten path to feel like an escape from the hustle and bustle of life, but minutes away from all the excitement.
Indoor Space
We have designed the indoor décor to allow you to enjoy many of the beautiful hiking trails that exist in the Smoky Mountains. We have given each room a name from some of the hiking trails we enjoy in the Smoky Mountains and the pictures in each room are from that specific trail. For rainy days we have stocked the indoor space with board games, books, a movie library, a pool table, and arcade with 60 classic arcade games. The movie room has RECLINING THEATER SEATS.
House Layout and Amenities
First Floor
The driveway is level and you only have to take one step up to enter this cabin. When you enter the door you will be in the kitchen where you will find granite countertops. The kitchen and great room have an open concept that allows all the guests to interact. The high gable roof provides a very spacious feel for this room. A gas fireplace is also available from Oct 1st to April 1st. Just off the great room is a master bedroom with a King bed, double closet, and TV. This bedroom is connected to a large bathroom with a double vanity, and tiled tub/shower. Also off the great room is the full-length deck with several rocking chairs and a porch swing. You have a view of Bluff Mountain from this deck. The washer and dryer are on the first floor.
Second Floor
If you head upstairs you will find a private 2nd master bedroom with a king-sized bed and TV. Connected to this bedroom is another large bathroom with a double vanity and a large tiled walk-in shower.
Basement
If you head downstairs from the 1st floor it will take you to a large open entertainment room. You will be greeted by a surround sound theater area with comfortable, leather theater seating in front of a 65" 4k TV to watch movies or enjoy TV. This area also contains a pool table and an arcade. In the corner of this room, you will find full-size bunk beds. Off the entertainment area is a bedroom with a queen bed and Roku TV. This bedroom also has its own en-suite bathroom.
If you step outside onto the patio, you’ll see the expansive backyard. On this level, you can use the gas grill, an outdoor table, and a deck box stocked with some outdoor games. There is also a hot tub with plenty of privacy to relax and enjoy a view of the mountain peaks.

We had such a great time. The cabin was super convenient to everything,minutes from grocery stores and the strip. Three levels allowed us to have privacy if we wished. The downstairs gameroom was a huge hit with adults and kids.not to mention it's the perfect weather for soaking in the hot tub and roasting marshmallows by the fire while you gaze at the stars. We even saw a shooting star while we were there. Management was super friendly and quick to respond when we couldn't find a broom, they had one there just a little while later. The free tickets were icing on the cake and saved us a lot of money. Thanks so much for having us.

The cabin was even better than expected. Everything was so well organized from the labeled remote controls to the kitchen gadgets (can opener, pizza cutter, etc.). It had everything we needed. All the rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were huge. The amenities were wonderful and when we weren't out, my kids lived at the fire pit and/or pool table. The movie theater seats were SO comfortable and we sat in those and watched tv/movies while we took turns playing pool. One thing I especially appreciated was the cleanliness. We spend most of our vacations at the beach or in the mountains. About half the time the kids get black on the bottom of their feet when they walk around barefoot in the condo/cabin rentals. My kids walked all weekend in bare feet in this cabin and their feet were always clean. The whole cabin was very clean. We saw no trace of a bug inside all weekend. We loved the location. I was just close enough to town to get there quickly, but just far enough out to enjoy the country. Customer service was great. I had a small issue with a tv while I was there and even though it was a Sunday, someone picked up the maintenance phone line right away. I had a little bit of trouble figuring out how to get the lights around the fire pit on, but that's just because I was a bit spoiled with how well everything else was labeled. We finally figured it out. I recommend this cabin for a great vacation.

This cabin had a lot of room to spread out with having 3 floors. The grandkids loved the bottom floor making it their zone. You had everything you could need for your stay except for if the power goes out,{ no flashlights}. We loved the big back yard and the rockers on the back deck and the fire pit. There were a couple of things that we found after we arrived. The downstairs floor didn't look like it had been cleaned and the kids had black feet the first night and had to wash their feet before getting into bed. There is not a comfortable chair for a grandparent to sit in. There was dust in a couple of rooms to. The main bedroom bed is to high off the floor for an elder person. This cabin is at the start of a very busy subdivision and there are bushes at the end of the driveway which blocks your view when backing out.

This cabin is absolutely gorgeous. There are more games and entertainment activities than anyone could ever do. Very clean and beautifully decorated. There was, unfortunately no ice maker and no ice in trays, so be sure and bring your own. Probably an oversight, but there was no dishwashing liquid either. No blankets in closet as advertised. A suggestion would be a couple of throws in family room. Our family, three couples, were very pleased overall. We will definitely be back. The fireplace was a very nice perk as well!

The cabin was amazing. Exactly what we needed for a few days of R&R. Great location if you are looking for something a little out from the crowd. It was nice that my family of 4 all had their own rooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was fully equipped for all cooking needs. I only wish we could have started the fire inside as the nights were quite chilly. We will definitely be back for another visit soon.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Take a Hike cabin. It was clean, comfortable and not too far away from area activities. One added bonus that most hotels get wrong is the soap provided. Of course we had our own, but the tiny bars of soap were surprisingly moisturizing. It’s a very small detail but a nice one nonetheless. The Property Management company, Bear Tracts, was easy to reach and staff were very communicative.

Beautiful cabin with many things to do. We traveled with 6 adults and 4 children. Smart tvs in every room. Awsome game room with pool table, theater seating, wii u, movies and arcade game. Bunk beds in the gameroom, which my kids loved having their bedroom in the game room. Hot tub, 2 fire pits, huge back yard where we played soccer and volleyball. Beutiful mountain peak view. Equipped with all the necessities you will need. Grill available. Nice balcony with rocking chairs to enjoy morning coffee. Many board games and outdoor games available. Comfortable beds, very clean, close to town. Minor suggestions include a bigger refrigerator, bigger dining room table and switching the tub in the lower level bathroom. But still a perfect stay! Thank you.

Easy to find. Close to the main strip in Pigeon Forge but far enough off the main drag got away from all the traffic. Cabin was as advertised. We had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and slept a lot of people (8-10 at least). Lots of things to do for the kids that kept them entertained. The ONLY suggestion I have which is a personal preference is upgrade the quality of sheets. The beds are vary comfortable but the sheets were not soft, but again not complaining only would make it that much better. We would totally rent again!!

Let me preface by saying overall we had a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately, our week was the first week with new owners and transferring from VRBO to Bear Tracts management. Working through that was concerning and we had lots of communication with the management company and new owner who was gracious to keep the commitment and not cancel out on us at the last minute. Several items are on the list for improvements and I’ve no doubt many are already made. Our week was rather wet, so no fire pit use nor playing in the beautiful little stream at the back of the property. Our beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well-furnished. We didn’t use the hot tub though it seemed to be ready. We did enjoy using the charcoal grill on the lower level. There is a large number of games and a really nice movie room with theater seating, surround sound, and selection of movies.
The internet worked well and the location was perfect...out northward through country roads to Sevierville Walmart or south via Goose Gap to the Wears Valley road into Pigeon Forge , 15-20 minutes either way. Very quiet with little traffic and a feeling of privacy.
Both the new owner and management company were immediately responsive to any of our concerns and texting was very efficient and effective. We would definitely return to this is perfect for three couples or family groups as there are three bedrooms each with its own separate bath. There’s lots to love about a vacation in this Smoky Mountain cabin!

Nice cabin with two master bedrooms, we traveled with our friends so it was nice to have to king beds and our own bath. Cabin is close to everything, clean and well maintained. I'd recommend it!
