The Gatlinburg SkyLift was the first four-season scenic chairlift in the South and is a landmark on the Parkway, sweeping guests from the heart of town up five hundred vertical feet to the top of Crockett Mountain the absolutely best views in Gatlinburg.As you arrive at the top, make sure to smile as we take your photo. Once on solid ground, you'll find the expansive SkyDeck to take in sweeping vistas you won't find anywhere else, looking out over Gatlinburg and out across the highest peaks of Great Smoky Mountain National Park. After exploring the SkyDeck and spectacular SkyBridge, you'll ride the lift back down the mountain, enjoying ever-changing views throughout the journey.Originally opened in 1954, the Gatlinburg SkyLift and a must-do experience for thousands of visitors each year, many of whom make a SkyLift ride an annual event. Today's SkyLift is a smooth, comfortable, three-seat chairlift built in 2017.The ticket window closes and the last chair up the mountain is at 9pm, the SkyBridge closes at 9:30pm, and the mountain closes at 10pm.

The Most Spectacular Experience In The Smokies.

Located at the top of the iconic SkyLift, the Gatlinburg SkyBridge is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in North America and the most spectacular experience in the Smokies.

From the mountain-top SkyDeck, the SkyBridge quite literally crosses the sky as it stretches 680 feet across a deep valley in a single span. Guests can walk across at their own pace, taking in the panoramic views and enjoying the spectacular setting before walking back when they're ready. With a height of 150 feet at its midpoint, the SkyBridge is an incredible but easily attainable experience you'll remember for a lifetime - especially as you cross the glass-floor panels in the middle of the span. Plus, we doubled the glass panels to provide 30 feet of excitement! It's "double the dare" now. Can you #PassTheGlass?

The Best Views In The Smokies

The SkyDeck features an expansive viewing deck, outdoor seating areas, tiered waterfall, firepit, and the spectacular SkyCenter building. From your position on top of Crockett Mountain, you'll enjoy sweeping scenic views and vantage points that exist nowhere else.

Relax in an outdoor chair on the deck to take in the vista and watch guests cross the SkyBridge. Have a photo taken in front of Gatlinburg's best views. Enjoy a snack while gazing out toward Great Smoky Mountain National Park, or a craft beer while overlooking the lights of Gatlinburg at night. Whether you spend five minutes or a couple hours, your time on the SkyDeck will be a highlight of your trip. 

The last ticket sold at the window and the last chair up the mountain is at 9pm, the SkyBridge closes at 9:30pm, and the top of the mountain closes at 10pm.

A Mountaintop Rest Area

The SkyCenter is located on the SkyDeck at the top of Crockett Mountain at the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park, overlooking the town with sweeping panoramic views into Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

First, make sure to snag your souvenir photo. The iconic photo in the yellow SkyLift chair is a tradition that dates back to the early 195o's. Photo sales are located on the first level of the SkyCenter building. The first floor of the SkyCenter also features a gift shop plus a snack bar with pizza, salads, wraps, and ice cream treats, while the second floor boasts an enormous seating area and bar with the finest views you'll find anywhere in town. Sit inside to cool off on a hot day or outside on the front deck overlooking Gatlinburg -- no matter what you choose you'll find amazing views day or night.

Gatlinburg SkyTrail

A Unique Smoky Mountain Experience

The Gatlinburg SkyTrail is a scenic walkway that will connect each end of the SkyBridge and provide guests the opportunity to take a leisurely walk in the mountains.

Phase 1 of the SkyTrail, featuring an elevated boardwalk, will open later this fall. This quarter-mile roundtrip walkway will offer unique views of the SkyBridge and panoramic Smoky Mountain vistas. While exploring the boardwalk, interactive signage will provide information about the engineering of the SkyBridge, the history of iconic Gatlinburg SkyLift, and the wildfires of 2016 that swept across Crockett Mountain where the SkyTrail stands today.

Phase 2, opening later next spring, will feature elevated viewing platforms, rope bridges, and a smooth walking path cut into the natural hillside.

Once complete, the SkyTrail will be accessible from either side of the SkyBridge as an enjoyable experience for adults, kids and dogs as an easy one-third-mile walk.
