Spectacularly renovated in the summer of 2025 with a breathtaking 2-tier, 1,200-square feet deck and brand new hot tub, "Bears on Skis" is the ideal lodge for those who want the full Smoky Mountain experience in luxury and comfort. Enjoy truly epic views from high above Gatlinburg and also be close both to the National Park and to all the area's fun attractions. Downtown Gatlinburg and the park entrance both are just short drives away; you can hike, play, come home, go for a seasonal swim in one of the nearby Chalet Village pools and go out again.

In winter, enjoy epic views of the skiers on the slopes of Ober Mountain as well as views of Mount Le Conte and beyond. Acres of trees (especially stunning in the fall), and the ober tram in the distance. Pools, tennis courts, and clubhouses for summer use are only a five-minute drive away. Wildlife on Ski Mountain is abundant and pays frequent visits; as part of the fun at Bears on Skis.

Enjoy our new, two-tier deck—perfect for taking in the sweeping mountain views. The deck features all-new furniture, an outdoor bar, gorgeous new deck lighting, a propane grill with fuel provided, and multiple seating areas including a dining table. You rarely have eaten or spent time with family and friends in such a beautiful setting.

Bears on Skis has ultra high-speed internet and 7 Roku smart TVs allowing access to your favorite streaming services. The cabin also provides Spectrum cable with network sports programming available on every TV.

Accommodations include five bedrooms suites, each with its own private bathroom with shower and bathtub (a rare find), a smart TV, and cool, Smoky-style decor.

Four bedrooms have huge king beds, dressers, and stunning views; the fifth has a queen-over-queen bunk and is located right next to one of the king rooms, making it ideal for families. All four main rooms are of roughly equal size and have comparable mountain views.

The living room features recliner couches, rustic decor (including custom wooden Bear carvings), & a wood-burning fireplace. A second living room with swivel couches (sleeper sofas) for maximum enjoyment of the view and to ensure your group has enough space for everyone. The well-equipped kitchen includes a huge fridge/freezer, stove with smooth cooktop, new microwave, new dishwasher, toaster, slow cooker, waffle iron I and both pod & standard coffee makers with a grinder for beans.

The game room features pro-quality air hockey, a multicade arcade game set to free play, board games, a brand-new foosball table, and a sound table with a charging station and a high-quality speaker to stream your music.

Brand-new flooring has been installed on the top two floors, giving the home a fresh and polished look, and a new roof ensures added comfort and peace of mind.

Outside, you'll find the massive deck overlooking the mountains, complete with rockers, loungers, outdoor dining, & coffee tables. A well-placed hot tub allows you to enjoy the view as you soak amid twinkling lights.

Bears on Skis is located on a well-paved & city-maintained road. There will be curves and steep sections as we are in the mountains. The driveway can accommodate 4–5 cars and you may need to reverse out of the driveway.

Our family enjoyed our week at Bears on Skis. We have a few suggestions which would make stays more comfortable such as towel bars or hooks in the bathrooms, the second story blinds were very dusty. The master suite did not have any blinds on the French doors so it was hard to sleep past sunrise. Management responded to all minor maintenance issues immediately which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely book again with Bear Tracts.

This is a spacious property, we had three families with children and plenty of room. Be sure to note that the entrance from parking is at the top of the property, so you enter and go up to the 3rd floor bedrooms, down to the 2nd floor bedrooms, and down another flight to the main living/kitchen/dining area which may be difficult if you have elderly guests. We loved the views and all the attractions/activities nearby. We even had a bear visit us our first day there!! We would definitely consider staying here again when we return to the mountains.

Upon arrival my group noticed the hot tub was not working. Contacted maintenance and they were quick to respond. Unfortunately the hot tub had met it's last soak prior to us being there and owner decided he would replace it after our stay. The owners were more than gracious to us and gave us tickets to not only the Pirate show but also to Anakessta to make up for the loss of the hot tub. The cabin is azing and we had bears visit the back deck everyday. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone and my family for sure will be back.

Our family had a wonderful stay in Bears on Skiis. It's aptly named because we had a young bear visit us on the deck twice! We were all on the deck the first time and just my husband (unaware) the second time. The bears nose was inches away from my husband's head! The view from the deck was amazing! The house had ample room for 14 (half of which were children). The kitchen was large enough for many adults to be in it at one time. However, if you advertise a cabin for 16, then you need eightflatwear for 16. We never had enough forks even for 14. You also need to supply more than 3 kitchen towels for 3 days... need a drawer full. In addition, there were no pot holders for removing food from a hot oven. The TV channels were lacking. We are a tennis family and wanted to view Wimbledon... had to watch it on our phone. Lastly, I was disappointed that when I requested extra sheets to put in a couch because the game room pull-outs were not roomy enough for two boys to sleep together, I was told they wouldn't be supplied for couches. So we used beach towels. However, all in all, we really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. We made awesome memories for the first vacation all our family (except two) were able to vacation together!

This cabin & location was perfect for our group of 11 adults & 2 children. Although I got a work out going up & down the steps ��, it was great that the bedrooms had extra privacy by being spread out throughout the cabin. The extra living space upstairs was so comfy and the perfect place to watch the skiers.
Large dining table with room for everyone. Hot tub was so enjoyable at the end of our busy days, especially for those that went skiing/snowboarding.
Overall, I would have to highly recommend this cabin. However, if someone in your group has problems with mobility, the stairs would be difficult for them.
The app was super helpful and answered any question that we had. I loved having that available without having to bother the renters with a little question here & there. Check in was a breeze!
The drive up is beautiful, but can be a little nerve wracking if you’re like me! Lol! The hubs didn’t mind it at all tho. Our group decided that next time we’ll schedule more time to just hang out at the cabin & enjoy the beautiful view!
You won’t be disappointed!
