With breathtaking, panoramic views of Mt. LeConte, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountains, this gorgeous, four-season, five-bedroom rustic mountain lodge sleeps 16. It is tucked into the trees above the Ober Mountain ski resort, just a five-minute drive away.

Recently repainted in a combination of exciting and restful colors, "Bears on Skis" is the ideal destination for those who want the full Smoky Mountain experience when it comes to spectacular views from high above Gatlinburg but who also want to be close both to the National Park and to all the area's fun attractions. Both Gatlinburg and the park entrance are just short drives away; you can hike, play, come home, and go out again.

In winter, enjoy epic views of the skiers on the slopes of Ober Mountain. In spring, summer, and fall, "Bears on Skis" offers amazing views of Mount Le Conte and beyond, acres of glorious trees (a stunning sight in the fall) and even a cable car in the distance. Two lovely, family-friendly pools, tennis courts and clubhouses for summer use are only a five-minute drive away. Wildlife on Ski Mountain is abundant and part of the fun of renting this home. There is a huge deck with a gas grill (Charcoal grill in driveway) and dining table; you will rarely have eaten or spent time with family and friends in so beautiful a setting.

Bears on Skis has ultra high-speed internet and 7 Roku smart TVs allowing access to your favorite streaming services. The cabin also now provides Spectrum cable service with local and news channels that you can stream through every TV.

Accommodations include five bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom with shower and bathtub, smart TV, and decorated in mountain style.

Four bedrooms have king-size beds, dressers, and their own stunning views; the fifth has a queen-over-queen bunk and is right next to one of the king rooms. All four main rooms are of roughly equal size and have comparably stunning mountain views.

The living room features recliner couches, rustic decor (including custom wooden carvings of bears in the woods), and a wood-burning fireplace. There also is a second viewing/living room with swivel couches for maximum enjoyment of the view and to ensure your group has enough space for everyone.

The well-equipped kitchen includes a huge fridge/freezer, stove with smooth cooktop, new microwave, new dishwasher, toaster, slow cooker, and both pod and standard coffeemakers with a grinder for your beans.

The game room features pro-quality air hockey, a multicade arcade game set to free play, board games, and a sound table with a charging station and a high-quality speaker to stream your music.

Outside, you'll find the huge deck overlooking the mountains, complete with rockers, loungers, outdoor dining, and coffee tables. A well-placed hot tub allows you to enjoy the view as you soak amid twinkling lights.

Please note the high-on-the-mountain Bears on Skis is located off a very windy but well-paved and city-maintained, mountain road. The driveway can accommodate 4-5 cars but you can't turn around without reversing.

The house was very nice and spacious for a large group of guys there for a bachelor party. The views were incredible, the amenities were great, and the condition of everything was very nice. Drive up was steep and windy with no guard rails, so remember to consider this when going in the winter or when driving on a rainy day!

We had a lovely time with family. The cabin is beautiful with plenty of room to spread out. The Christmas tree was a little small. Once we pulled all of our gifts around it, it was a pretty funny sight. We did see a few bears while staying , which was very exciting. The view overlooking the Ober was fun. Saw a lot of wildlife from the patio. Overall it’s a nice cabin with lots of space. I will caution, if you have an elderly or handicap individual there is a lot of stairs!!

We had a great family vacation, cabin is well stocked, clean, and we enjoyed our stay. Family members from 1 to 81 yrs. Was worried about the steps but they were carpeted nicely and everyone was able to navigate them without any issue. Instructions were very informative communicating everything that was needed. Many bear sightings along road leading to cabin as well as one at the cabin. A+ experience from booking to departure and would stay again

Our family had a wonderful stay in Bears on Skiis. It's aptly named because we had a young bear visit us on the deck twice! We were all on the deck the first time and just my husband (unaware) the second time. The bears nose was inches away from my husband's head! The view from the deck was amazing! The house had ample room for 14 (half of which were children). The kitchen was large enough for many adults to be in it at one time. However, if you advertise a cabin for 16, then you need eightflatwear for 16. We never had enough forks even for 14. You also need to supply more than 3 kitchen towels for 3 days... need a drawer full. In addition, there were no pot holders for removing food from a hot oven. The TV channels were lacking. We are a tennis family and wanted to view Wimbledon... had to watch it on our phone. Lastly, I was disappointed that when I requested extra sheets to put in a couch because the game room pull-outs were not roomy enough for two boys to sleep together, I was told they wouldn't be supplied for couches. So we used beach towels. However, all in all, we really enjoyed our stay in this cabin. We made awesome memories for the first vacation all our family (except two) were able to vacation together!

The view was amazing. Place was clean, decorated nicely, plenty of room and baths for us and my son and daughters families. Game room a big plus with the kids. Even got to watch a few bears out the back. Distance to park and town not too far but with winding roads takes a little longer. Loved it.

This cabin & location was perfect for our group of 11 adults & 2 children. Although I got a work out going up & down the steps ��, it was great that the bedrooms had extra privacy by being spread out throughout the cabin. The extra living space upstairs was so comfy and the perfect place to watch the skiers.
Large dining table with room for everyone. Hot tub was so enjoyable at the end of our busy days, especially for those that went skiing/snowboarding.
Overall, I would have to highly recommend this cabin. However, if someone in your group has problems with mobility, the stairs would be difficult for them.
The app was super helpful and answered any question that we had. I loved having that available without having to bother the renters with a little question here & there. Check in was a breeze!
The drive up is beautiful, but can be a little nerve wracking if you’re like me! Lol! The hubs didn’t mind it at all tho. Our group decided that next time we’ll schedule more time to just hang out at the cabin & enjoy the beautiful view!
You won’t be disappointed!

The views were phenomenal, we even saw a family of bears. Mama bear and 3 cubs came to say hello at the back patio! The house was super cozy and well furnished. It would have been nice; however, if basic supplies were available such as sugar, coffee, salt/pepper, oil, trash bags and dish soap/pods. It was overall wonderful.

Travel last week with my family from three different states to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. The cabin was perfect! Big enough for all 16 of us. Cabin very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. Owners very easy to get ahold of and responsive both prior to the trip and during the trip. The views were amazing and worth the drive up the mountain!

We had a great time in TN and our Bears on Skies Rental made a great base for sightseeing in the Mountains and around the towns. We cooked in most of the time and had plenty of space to cook and eat meals. With so many bedrooms everyone could spread out and have privacy but lots of room to be together. The added visits in the area from the bears was an added and unexpected treat.
