The Scenic Route, These are the directions your parents took in the days before GPS when they made the wrong turn and time wasn't a factor. Always took a little longer. But, also meant you were able to experience and see different things as you were not on a schedule.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Smoky Mountains in the heart of Wears Valley, centrally located between Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Townsend. Named for the amazing views from this cabin perched aside the mountain and the many scenic routes available to surrounding areas, you will experience a peaceful mountain atmosphere that is just outside of the hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge.

When done with your adventures for the day, come back home to this cozy cabin with a private loft. Enjoy mountain views from the rocking chair or in the hot tub. Picnic and grill area to enjoy taking in the outdoors while sharing a meal with the family. A community pool to escape those hot summer days and a stocked fishing pond that is free to use.

This updated 1 bedroom cabin can sleep a total of 8 guests with the aid of 2 sleeper sofas. Downstairs the cabin offers a master bedroom with a king pillow top bed for extra comfort and a queen sleeper sofa in living area. Upstairs there is a king pillow top bed in a partially enclosed bedroom and half bath in suite, also a queen sleeper sofa in the loft. All new mattresses, ceiling fans and flat screen smart TVs in every sleeping area.

You will also receive the ‘comforts of home’ guest welcome starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and dishwasher pods. Stack-able washer and dryer is on-site.

Located less than 7 miles to "The Sinks" and Meigs Creek Trail which is a short hike to Meigs Creek cascades and many other hiking trails. River Rat tubing on Little River, Tuckaleechee Caverns, and many other family activities. When you are ready for some action you can be at the Island in Pigeon forge in just 15 minutes! There is a lesser known entrance to the Smoky Mountains in Wears Valley that goes to the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic area. From here you can access Cades Cove, Elkmont, Gatlinburg or Townsend (although there are shorter routes available) where you will find beautiful rivers, waterfalls and even swimming holes. You are 5 minutes from the Foothills Parkway which offers incredible views of the Smokies.

Wears Valley, nicknamed “The Jewel of the Smokies”, is a special town that gives you the feeling of times past, an authentic mountain town experience with local restaurants, shopping and even moonshine! Go horseback riding at Walden’s Creek Stables, enjoy a thrilling zip line excursion through the forest and see views of Mt. LeConte or ride on a mountain coaster nearby.

Regardless of how you choose to spend your time, The Scenic Route will be sure to produce fantastic vacation memories.

Sleeping arrangements: Downstairs King. Sleeper Sofa in Living area. Upstairs King bed with a sleeper sofa.

What a beautiful place. The cabin had everything we expected and more. It was so nice to sit on the deck in the morning, sip my coffee and watch the wildlife all around. We saw chipmunks, squirrels, lightening bugs and even a little black bear. The gorgeous smokey mountain's were breath taking. We will be visiting again.

Thank you so much for your kindness and quick responses to our questions and random emails! We really enjoyed our time in Tennessee with my parents. The lay out of the cabin was perfect for our situation and the surroundings are beautiful! (The neighbors across the road are sooo nice!) Thank you again! We will definitely return when we come back to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area.

We took a late honeymoon to Nashville and then the Scenic Route Cabin. It was a wonderful experience. The view was stunning. There were so many options to choose from, but we are by far impressed with our choice. We would love to go back! From breakfast outside to relaxing in the hot tub at night, there was no bad view.

Sweet little cabin away from the crowds! Our family of five enjoyed the view and the coziness of the cabin. Cons: sagging mattress on the guest room king bed, dryer that ruined a few articles of clothing due them getting snagged in the drum which ripped and/or left marks all over them, and a hot tub that probably could have used a good scrubbing. Pros: view, outdoor space, quiet neighborhood, and overall really clean. Agree with other reviews; the road is steep so be aware. If you are thinking about this place for more than one family, just be aware that there is only one shower and it is an open air loft and noise travels very well. Wears Valley has a couple of dining options that we found preferable to Pigeon Forge. We liked how close it was to a couple of different park entrances as well.

Clean, well-stocked property and perfect location for our family of five’s visit to the smokey mountains! The views were fantastic although no bear sightings. We enjoyed morning hikes (get to trails early!) and afternoon fishing at the catch and release fishing at the pond. Family friends stayed a short, but steep walk up the street. Eat outside at boss hog’s barbecue and the riverstone in townsend. Excited to return!

Hubby & I had a romantic stay at The Scenic Route in Oct. Foliage was at its peak & we loved being able to have morning coffee & evening meals out on the deck. The management team was highly efficient & responsive; we had a tiny maintenance issue & they had a serviceman there so quickly I couldn't believe it. I prefer dealing with a small local company for this type of personal service, rather than a large corporate concern. The location was perfect for us, as we shy away from all the activity & commercialism of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. We stuck to the western edge, getting groceries in nearby Townsend & eating there or in Wears Valley. You are literally like a mile or 2 from the Foothills Parkway which I highly recommend. Access to the GSMNP via the Townsend entrance or Wears Valley Gap Road/Line Springs Road was easy with very little traffic (until you hit Cades Cove Loop) during probably the busiest week of the year. This was a HUGE bonus. The traffic trying to get in from both Gatlinburg and Cherokee was bumper to bumper all week. Folks from Flatlandia should be aware that you are coming to the mountains, and the road to the cabin is steep; the first time up may be a little intimidating but after that it's old hat and just part of the fun. The road condition is paved & excellent. [BONUS TIP: after spending 3 or 4 hours along the Cades Cove Loop, we made the escape up Rich Mountain Road, a one-way well-maintained gravel road (closed Nov-May) up and over the mountain into Townsend. A stunning drive & we stopped frequently to look back down into Cades Cove. Saw maybe 5 other cars on the entire ride. Ended near Tuckaleechee Caverns, which was also really fun.]The cabin itself is fine and in good repair, all the windows worked and had screens, no funny smells, comfortable furniture. My only slight disappointment was not having a good space to unpack; there's a little spot for hanging clothes, but the small amount shelf space is used already for add'

The cabin had awesome views. We will definitely be returning. Its close enough to town to be convenient yet it feels so very private. Its tucked up in the hills and although you have a few neighbors the trees block the neighbors view and it feels very secluded. Our family just had the best time here and I highly recommend this cabin. Matt you have been very helpful and worked while on vacation to make our stay pleasant. You made things very easy for us. Its never a bad time at Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg but to feel like you are truly in a private cabin and only be 20 minutes from the mainstream is just remarkable.Thank you Matt for making this great and we will CERTAINLY be using this cabin as often as possible!

What a gem this cabin is. It was a super easy experience to check in, the owners are very responsive and everything was done via the app. Once we arrived we immediately set out to enjoy the view from the deck, and let me tell you that the pictures do not do it justice. Simply put, out of all the cabins that we have visited over the years in the Smokies this view was our absolute favorite. You will find yourself about 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, not too close not too far. The cabin itself is very clean and modern with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The ONLY thing that I would even consider to be minor is that just be aware the if you are trying to sleep downstairs, you can basically hear everything right above you as if they are right next to you, we could even hear our kids whispering as we kept telling them is was time for bed. I wouldn't hold it against this cabin though, just thought you all would like to know. It would not stop us from visiting this lovely cabin again. In closing, this is the cabin you are looking for ... we will be back.

My Hubby & I enjoyed our stay at The Scenic Route. The cabin was beautiful and was very homey and cozy. It wasn’t completely secluded but it had enough privacy with the trees and mountains, plus it was still within good distance of local restaurants, stores, Gatlinburg, and Pigeon Forge. My Husband and I would definitely come back again.
